PHF Co-founder Damien Dwin receives William Gaston Alumni Award

Please join the Patrick Healy Fellowship in congratulating PHF co-founder, Damien Dwin (1997), on being the 2015 recipient of the William Gaston Alumni Award! This award is one of Georgetown’s highest honors, named after the first student to enroll in Georgetown College. “The Award recognizes outstanding service by graduate and undergraduate alumni who have exhibited leadership across many activities such as regional clubs, class programs and/or participation in other school activities.” Read more about the award and other recipients here.

Patrick Healy Fellows and Alumna Travel to Ferguson, MO

In October, senior fellows Esther Owolabi, Marisha Wickremsinhe, and Colleen Roberts along with PHF alumna Taylor Griffin (COL ’14) drove to Ferguson, Missouri to stand in solidarity against police violence and demand justice for Michael Brown. The trip was sponsored by the Center for Social Justice and on-campus fundraising efforts. The fellows travelled with other campus organizations such as the NAACP, GU Solidarity Committee, and Black Student Alliance. Read more about the trip experience in The Hoya article.

PHF Alumni Board Chair named IMPACT Leader of the Month

Donald Sherman, chair of the Healy Fellows alumni board, was recognized as the August 2013 IMPACT Leader of the Month. Congratulations to Donald!

Healy Fellow Alum Wins Award from NABJ

Healy Fellow Alum, Yamiche Alcindor (2009), recently received the Emerging Journalist  of the Year Award from the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Congratulations, Yamiche, on this outstanding achievement!
